4 Craft Store Finds You Can Use as Backgrounds on Your Website or Social Media

When I was creating the Going Bold Studio website I really wanted to create something that was on brand, unique, and you guessed it... BOLD! To do so, I took it to the craft store to pick up some items that I could use for backgrounds on my website and social media graphics. This is a great option because it allows you to pick backgrounds that fit within your color palette and add some texture which adds some visual interest! Plus, because youโ€™re picking them out you can get exactlyyy what you want without trying to search stock photos that would fit.

So what kind of items did I use for my website? Hereโ€™s a look!

Sparkly Cardstock

I love myself some sparkle and wanted some confetti-style backgrounds. Hereโ€™s the thing though, confetti can be MESSY! So instead I hit up the paper aisle and picked up sparkly confetti paper! I love these because they have various colors and they give you the illusion of perfectly spread-out glitter confetti without a lot less mess!

Garland

Another fun thing to photograph is garland. Yes, you can bust this out for things other than Christmas! I opted for some pink garland that I piled together and then took close-up photos. This is such a great option to really add dimension and texture.

Chunky Confetti

Back to the confetti! Another option is to use chunky glitter. I know I said confetti is messy above (and it is!) but I also wanted variety so I sucked it up for this.

Banners

Banners can be great backgrounds too. You can either use tassel banners and take close-up shots. Or you can get the photobooth-style backgrounds for parties and also take pictures of them like that.

Curious how I put these banners to work? Below is a peek at my homepage and then youโ€™ll have to browse my website and Instagram account to see how else I used them!
