Quarterly To-Do List for your Business
I love having regular check-ins with my business and doing them on a quarterly basis is a great way to stay on top of things. Time to check in on where you're at on your goals, evaluate what has been working (and hasn't), make some plans and take care of some of the less than fun business tasks. Here are a few of the things on my to-do list that may be helpful for you too!
Check-in on the progress of your goals
Check-in on your goals for the quarter. How did it go? Did you accomplish what you were hoping to? Do you need to re-evaluate some things? How about nix some goals that aren’t serving you any longer? It’s surprising how much can happen in a quarter so take some time to reflect.
Set goals and priorities for next quarter
Now that you’ve reflected on your goals for the last quarter, it’s time to make some new plans for the next. What do you hope to accomplish? What are some things that you want to prioritize this quarter? You can find more great tips on productivity here too!
Check your website analytics
Analytics nerd over here! 🙋🏼♀️ Checking your website analytics regularly is so important! It’s a great way to see what pages people are visiting most, which services/products are most popular and what kind of blog content is attracting people. I like to check page views, popular content, referral traffic and my audience.
Check your social media analytics
Another set of analytics you should check in on is your social media. Quarterly check-ins are nice too because you can take some time to evaluate what content has been more effective over a longer period of time than you’re likely checking usually.
Plan or finalize any launch timelines
Do you have any upcoming launches for products or services happening this quarter? Now is a great time to check-in and finalize any of those details. When will they happen? What tasks do you need to accomplish to get ready?
Plan out blog and newsletter content
Take some time to make a content plan for the next quarter. Even better, you can use some of the info you discovered from your analytics to guide what kind of content you want to create more (or less) of.
Update portfolio with most recent work
As creatives and marketing professionals, updating our portfolios is often something that gets pushed off. When you update it regularly it’s way more manageable though! Plus, there is no better way to seal the deal on new business opportunities than showing off projects and case studies. So having your most recent work highlighted is key. Plus, when you do this regularly, you won’t have to scramble to update it when someone requests to see it.
Tidy up files on your computer
Does your desktop look like a mess? Google Drive? Dropbox? Whatever services you use, take some time to tidy them up. It will make finding files way easier.
Balance accounting and pay estimated taxes
My accounting team will like this one! Now is a great time to make sure everything is up to date (on top of your monthly check-ins). Plus make sure you remember to pay your estimated taxes (if needed). When you keep up with this throughout the year it will make your life and your accounting team’s lives a whole lot easier!
Back up computer
This is another thing that often gets pushed off but is so important! Even when you’re using cloud software to keep your file safe. For good measure, make sure you’re also backing up your computer regularly!
Save this for later
