Top 10 Things you Should be Focusing on for your Social Media Strategy

Overwhelmed by social media?! I hear you... it can feel like a LOT and it's oh so time-consuming! On the flip side though, it can be such a game-changer for your business in reaching new people and building meaningful connections.

Which is why I'm all about helping business owners rein in their efforts and maximize the time they do have. Because spoiler, all of that mindless scrolling you're currently doing isn't going to get you the results you're after. You can use these tips as guidelines to streamline your focus and make your efforts count!

  1. Creating quality content for your target audience - think education, inspire, entertain and promote

  2. Engaging with your community and target audience daily. Comments > likes when it comes to making connections with others

  3. Checking your analytics regularly so you know what is and isn’t working when it comes to your content and the audience you’re reaching

  4. Experimenting with new content and platforms to see what works for you. Oh hi, I see you Tik Tok and Pinterest! There’s more to social media than just Instagram and Facebook which tend to be the two people spend the most time on.

  5. Stay in your lane and don’t focus on comparison. You are unique and there are different paths to success. Comparing accounts is like comparing apples and oranges and there’s a lot going on that you can’t see so focus on your own accounts.

  6. Focus on quality over quantity and don’t over things! I’m talking, focusing on introductions to new people and building relationships rather than just chasing your follower count.

  7. Be authentic with your audience. There’s no better way to gain their trust and build real connections.

  8. Get comfortable with video content. Yep, in 2021 it’s something you should be open to embracing. There are lots of ways you can do it too so find what works best for you.

  9. Batch content ahead of time so you can be strategic in what you’re posting. This is a tried and true tip but so important if you’re trying to have an impact for your business with your efforts

  10. Finally… stay consistent and keep at it! Not everyone hits the viral jackpot in finding overnight success on social media. Social media is a long-term strategy for your business so keep at it!
